Education

For a lot of Appalachia’s history, education in Appalachia has failed to keep up with the rest of the nation. This is because; they struggle with funding, from the state governments. When they first started doing education, it was teaching Christian morality, and learning to read the bible. This took place in a one room school houses. After the Civil War, they made grade schools and high schools, much like schools today. In the 20^th century, they had them teach things other than Christianity.
