Education

For a lot of Appalachia’s history, education in Appalachia has failed to keep up with the rest of the nation. This is because; they struggle with funding, from the state governments. When they first started doing education, it was teaching Christian morality, and learning to read the bible. This took place in a one room school houses. After the Civil War, they made grade schools and high schools, much like schools today. In the 20th century, they had them teach things other than Christianity.
